Description of CAF-DCF : The Central Department for Fractionation of the Red Cross (C.A.F.-D.C.F. cvba-scrl) is a Belgian organization specialised in the fractionation of plasma and the production of stable plasma derivatives: coagulation factors, immunoglobulins and albumin solutions. Mainly plasma taken from volunteer, unpaid donors at Belgian blood transfusion centres is used for the preparation of these plasma derivatives. C.A.F.-D.C.F. cvba-scrl is the only producer in Belgium to offer a full range of stable plasma derivatives. PRODUCTION:Thanks to our ethical stance, everyone can benefit from our know-how, redcross, Rode Kruis Vlaanderen, Rode kruis, http://www.caf-dcf.dotnet17.hostbasket.com/
C.A.F.-D.C.F. cvba-scrl operates only in Belgium. We work with plasma taken from volunteer, unpaid donors, and are active in the non-profit sector. Because of our ethical policy, every patient can benefit from our technological know-how and the availability of human-origin drugs that are needed for their treatment. It is for those reasons that we continue to work as a tight-knit team in the development of a full range of drugs of human origin, including drugs for rare pathologies, so that we can meet demand for treatment.
INNOVATION C.A.F.-D.C.F. cvba-scrl is highly specialised in the fractionation of plasma. This specialisation is continuously developed with the aim of making highly pure and safe drugs of human origin.
Our fractionation know-how is internationally renowned. In cooperation with sister organisations such as Sanquin in the Netherlands, LFB (Laboratoire Français du Fractionnement et des Biotechnologies) in France and Biotest in Germany, we work to develop the products and technology of the future.
SAFETY Plasma derivatives are exceedingly reliable!
Safety takes absolute precedence throughout the production line. For example, we have developed a complete tracking system, from donor to final product. We process more than 220.000 litres annually into the broadest range of stable plasma derivatives available in Belgium. This plasma is collected mainly in Belgium from volunteer blood and plasma donors.
Thanks to this human plasma, we can produce human proteins that have long proven their therapeutic value. In combination with the high-tech techniques used during the purification and activation process, we can offer plasma derivatives with unparalleled viral safety.
SERVICE C.A.F.-D.C.F. cvba-scrl offers you more than just a range of plasma derivatives. http://www.caf-dcf.dotnet17.hostbasket.com/
We make sure that plasma derivative orders are delivered as quickly as possible via an effective logistics service. Thanks to our own Belgian plasma supply and production capacity, we can offer the availability of plasma derivatives. At C.A.F.-D.C.F. cvba-scrl, you can count on personal follow-up of your order. PRODUCTS : Immunoglobulins are protein molecules with antibody properties that play a primary role in the body’s humoral immune response. They neutralise toxins, activate the complement and stimulate phagocytosis by opsonisation. They also have a significant role in the counter-activation of auto-antibody-producing lymphocytes and act as functional moderators in the specific recognition and binding of antigens and the activation of non-specific effector mechanisms of the organism.
Clinically, they are used in various medical fields. They are indicated in primary, congenital antibody deficiencies, such as agamma- and hypogammaglobulinemia and secondary, acquired antibody deficiencies such as chronic lymphatic leukaemia (C.L.L.) and plasmacytoma (multiple myelomas). Another therapeutic application is the treatment of auto-immune illnesses such as ITP, Kawasaki disease and neurological auto-immune syndromes such as Guillain-Barré and CIDP.
The immunoglobulins produced by C.A.F.-D.C.F. cvba-scrl are isolated from the plasma by a process called Cohn fractionation. During the separation process, they are divided into fraction II from the other proteins (such as albumin). Depending on the plasma processed, a distinction is made between specific and polyvalent immunoglobulins. The specific immunoglobulins are purified from plasma with high titres of certain antibodies (e.g. tetanus, anti-HBs antibodies).
These high titres are also found in the end product. The polyvalent immunoglobulins are isolated from non-specific plasma and have the full antibody spectrum of a normal population. In addition to this division according to the antibodies present, a distinction is also made between intramuscular and intravenous preparations.http://www.caf-dcf.dotnet17.hostbasket.com/
